Please join us!

Presbyterian Women are winding up a very busy and productive year. Our monthly meetings included a field trip to Talking Water Garden in Albany and timely presentations on important topics in our own church life, our community and the world.

Our final event will be our “Women’s Celebration” Luncheon on Tuesday, May 19th at noon. We will announce the 2015 Honorary Lifetime Membership recipient, install new officers and enjoy fun and fellowship. The lunch will be catered by Jeanne Taylor Whitty, Kitchen Steward ($5 each). Please sign up in the Narthex before or after church on May 10 or 17, or call the office.

This summer our program committee will be working behind the scenes to create a new year’s worth of interesting and fun programs. We sincerely hope you will find activities within our membership you enjoy and that nurture your spirit. Please don’t hesitate to contact us via the church office for more information.

Sarah Circle

Meets 9:30 am the second Tuesday of the month (September through May) in homes for Bible study. We are looking forward to the 2015-2016 Horizons Bible Study, Come to the Waters by Judy Record Fletcher. In this study we consider the waters of chaos in Genesis, and the River of Life in the last chapter of Revelation, where chaos is no more. Water plays a central role in the stories of creation, the delivery of God’s people (through the parting of the Red Sea and the crossing of the Jordan River), judgment of a people weak in faith and the adoption of the people of God through baptism. Sometimes there is too much water (think Noah) and sometimes there is too little water (think drought in the desert). Together, we will explore some of the Bible’s 800 references to water. 2015-2016 Horizons Bible Study. Coordinator: Betty Miner

Meets 9:00 am every Wednesday (September through May at the church) to make quilts for children in need. No experience required!

Piecemakers had a very successful year in which the 13 members have donated 139 quilts to the following: 98 to the Vina Moses Bright Gift Program, 25 to Gingoog Christian College in the Philippines, 15 to the Center Against Rape and Domestic Violence (CARDV) and 1 church baby. We also have 100 finished quits in storage to be distributed as needed. Our summer break begins May 27th, but quilt tops will be sewn during the summer in preparation for our return the first Wednesday after Labor Day. We are now able to actively sew on Wednesdays and hope to encourage others to join this ecumenical family of quilters. We continue to be grateful for the support of the congregation and donations of usable fabric by those who no longer sew. This enables us to continue this wonderful mission. Coordinator: Judy Maki
