A few reminders for online safety:
- Pastor Scott will NEVER email you to ask for money, request that you purchase gift cards, or inquire about financial account numbers.
- Always check email addresses. Examine each sender’s full email address before opening a message. Look for odd spelling, numbers, or church addresses that don’t end in 1stpres.org.
- Inspect links before clicking. Hover over any hyperlinks in the body of an email to preview the link address. If the email, sender, or link preview (often found in the lower left corner of your browser when you hover over a link) seem suspicious, don’t click.
- Beware of urgent requests or threats. Fear-based phrases like “your account has been suspended” or demands that “require urgent action” are often fake.
- When in doubt, please call. If you want to verify the validity of an email from our pastor, staff, or preschool, please call us at 541-753-2228.
