Children

All children are invited to join us for Sunday School!

Children are enthusiastically invited to attend Worship each Sunday. In addition to Sunday School, youth and family activities we’ve facilitated in the past have included movie nights, family-friendly hikes, Holy Troublemakers communal art and education activities, a summer campout, Fellowship baseball outings, and take-home activities from Illustrated Ministry. We’ve also hosted a summer Peace Camp for youths, facilitated by licensed counselors from Authentic Hope: Center for Peace and Empowerment as part of our Mental Health Ministry.

Sunday School
Our 2024-25 year begins on Sunday, September 8th! About 10 minutes into Worship in the Sanctuary every week, following a brief pastoral moment with young disciples, all K-5th grade children and 6th-12th grade youth will be invited to join our Sunday School leaders for separate lessons downstairs. Both Sunday School groups seek to build community and faith.

Younger Group (K-5th grade)
This group will focus on key Bible stories such as Abraham and Sarah; the Exodus; Naomi and Ruth; and, in December, the story of Jesus’ birth.

Older Group (6th-12th grade)
This group will have the opportunity to discuss their daily lives and what it means to live them with faith. We’ll be exploring a topic-based format with an emphasis on giving them tools to investigate and test out their beliefs rather than providing a settled “correct” answer. We seek to offer youth a process for exploring their questions, assumptions, and doubts.
