A Consecrated People! SOUPerbowl Sunday Fellowship, General Assembly Sunday
We have designated This Sunday as General Assembly Sunday! GENERAL ASSEMBLY is our national denominational bi-annual gathering. This year the Presbytery of the Cascades is hosting the 222nd GA in Portland from June 18th to June 25th. The Presbytery covers a good portion of the expense to host General Assembly and are asking churches to contribute. We will take a special offering for those who would like to give to support this. What is General Assembly?
SouperBowl Lunch—After Church! Your Fellowship Committee invites you to the annual Souper-Bowl Lunch immediately following the worship service. Enter in the middle Dennis Hall doors. Those needing assistance can enter in the first doors where you will be seated and served. Parents, enjoy some soup before kids return at 11:30 (we’ll have kid friendly soup). Tickets are not needed; donations will be accepted at the door.
Welcome!
This Sunday we have a chance to fellowship over great soups! It is good to get together as people of faith to build community. A church, and the Church, is a growing people. We are growing into who we are meant to be and into our mission. While Scripture can be used to perpetuate a parent/child relationship with God the language for the Church speak of it as God’s bride and as partners in the divine nature. How do we grow from God’s children into the bride and partner of God?
I hope you’ll join us this Sunday at 10am for meaningful worship and community. If you cannot join us in person you can always be with us through Internet Streaming.

Family Worship and Communion Next Week. School age kids stay with us in an engaging worship designed for all ages. It’s the last Sunday before Lent and so we will celebrate the abundance of the Lord’s table.
There will be an Ash Wednesday Service Feb. 10th at Noon in the Sanctuary. This is when we mark foreheads (not required) with ashes to recognize the beginning of Lent. Lent means different things for different people but generally it is a time for self reflection and evaluation, humility, and pursuing closeness with God, ourselves and our neighbors.
If you are coming from work, know that the first 10 minutes will be for quiet reflection and we will be done no later than 12:45pm.
