On Sundays, help those with mobility troubles and new visitors by leaving the parking lot spaces and street spaces that are in front of the church for them.
Consider carpooling. Use the lot next to the multicultural center or street parking along the park or on Madison Ave.

 April Challenge Offering:
Presbyterian Preschool & Childcare Center

Our Goals:

  • To help children that really need our services and to make our services affordable.
  • Meet all needs of all children by creating enriching, engaging, and fun learning environments for all ages and all stages of development. (Using state approved curriculum and materials)
  • To have all children develop a life-long love of learning.

The average cost for full-time care:  

$13,000 per year per child.

For example: 

Our current Infant cost for care: $18,500. 

Infant cost for tuition: $15,000.

How your donation helps:

  • Keeps infants and children off the streets and in a safe and warm environment.
  • Allows parents to search for work.
  • Helps children stay nourished.
  • Allows the young parent to complete school or college or other vocational training.

 


Apr 15 – Join us for Recycling Art Day, Church Library after Worship. Everyone is invited to create your masterpiece from recycled materials. Have fun and meet someone new. No age limits.

Apr 15 – this Sunday Interfaith Potluck Dinner, 5:30-7:30pm, Westminster House – Vegetarian potluck. Bring labels to indicate gluten or dairy free. Tableware & drinks provided; please bring your own plate/cup/silverware if possible.

The April PW Coffee scheduled for April 17 has been cancelled.  We hope to reschedule our speaker this fall.

Announcements:

 

Carillon Revelry Bell Choir is raising money for a long-overdue refurbishment of our bells. Thanks to you and memorial money given towards music ministry, we have raised the $8,000 needed! Thank you!   To keep our bells well-maintained you can continue to support the bell fund. Checks can be made to First Presbyterian Church, with a memo for “Bell fund.”
Flowers: Sign up to bring flowers to Worship. Flowers can then later be distributed to our homebound people! A sign-up sheet is located on the bulletin board across from the office.

Name tags: Many members and friends graciously wear name tags to be more hospitable. Temporary name tags are available in the Narthex or from an usher. If you make 1st Pres your worshipping home then let the office know and we will gladly make you a permanent one! If you have a name tag please wear one, and introduce yourself to your neighbors!

Just a reminder that there is no parking parallel to the yellow curb in the parking lot. Please only park in designated parking lot spaces or out on the street. On Sundays, parking is also available in the Multi-Cultural Center parking lot across 9th Street.

PEB EXPLORATION TRIP 2018
The Presbyterian Education Board – Pakistan Exploration Trip travel dates for 2018 will be November 8-19. During this special 20th Anniversary trip, we will celebrate all that has been accomplished since the Pakistani government returned the schools in 1998. Come meet with PEB students and staff, explore the schools and experience Pakistani culture. See how your contributions have been put to good use and witness how your generosity is making a positive impact on the children of Pakistan. If you are interested in more information regarding the Exploration Trip, talk to Tim Roach or please contact us at info@friendsofpeb.org
