This Week 8/21/2016

14th Sunday after Pentecost
The Law and Order of Loving

Welcome!

Some people love their religion more than people. It’s an age-old story. People feel they know exactly what it looks like to follow, to worship, to behave as a believer and have little understanding for those who can’t fall in line. Jesus confronts one of these types when he heals a woman on the Sabbath. This religious leader thought it more important that Jesus follow the rules than for a suffering person to be healed. He loved his rules, his customs, his ways more than he loved this neighbor. It’s easy to be selfish and only focus on our goals and wants, it’s so much harder to let go and love people more than ourselves and our desires.

I hope you will join us this Sunday at 10:00am for meaningful worship, thoughtful exploration and community, as we explore this week’s text together. If you cannot join us in person, you can always be with us through Internet Streaming.

Peace,
Rev. Matt Gough
